This project was submitted to Buildner's
Museum of Emotions competition (Edition 4)
as a group entry. The competition brief required
designing a museum with two separate halls, each
representing a positive and a negative emotion.
Competitors had the freedom to choose the site
and context, with the unique challenge of conveying
the emotional themes without using any descriptive text. [ Architecture ] [ Competition Project ]
The concept of this project evolved from the chosen location, Tuz Gölü (Salt Lake) in Turkey. The design features a linear concrete mass building situated on the salt lake, with two main halls placed one above the other. Salt, the primary element, is used extensively both in the environment and within the halls. In the positive emotion hall, salt is utilized as a bright, shiny material to bring light into the interior space. Conversely, in the negative emotion hall, salt is piled up to create an intimidating block, obstructing sunlight and contributing to a somber atmosphere.
