Sustainable House

The Sustainable House project is a semester-long
educational initiative for the Environmental Control class.
The main goal of this class and project is to
educate students about sustainable and energy-conscious
design parameters and enable them to apply this
knowledge to their other works. For this project,
different cities around Turkey were assigned to
groups of two students, each tasked with developing
a design tailored to their specific location                        [ Architecture ]                       [ School Project ]

In this project, the site location is Karabük, Turkey. During the development of the design, an analysis of local materials and the traditional houses of Safranbolu was conducted. Additionally, the climate of the region, including rainfall and temperature, as well as a shadow analysis of the site, were examined. Wind direction graphs and sun path diagrams were created, and solar symmetry and sound analysis were carefully considered during the design phase. Based on these research findings, detailed calculations for the floor, roof, and wall materials were made to ensure a sustainable and energy-efficient design.
